Fantastic holiday. Excellent location
Thank you
A splendid holiday cottage set in an idyllic location. Everything is provided to make ones stay most relaxing. Thank you.
Just returned from our third visit and rebooked again . we love it here so peaceful and its better than springwatch in the garden. lovely house everything included so you really can sit back and relax. Two weeks gone by far too quickley.

What an absolutely fantastic cottage. Great location for hiding away, so much wildlife to watch. Great for the Dales and the Lakes. The facilities and homely touches were great. Would definitely stay again! Thank you for a lovely week.
Lovely cottage very clean and cosy with a high standard of facilities. Views are fantastic and it is a tranquil and very peaceful setting. Very close to Hawes which is a real bonus! We have stayed in many cottages over the years but not many have this level of "home comforts" and we will certainly book again for next year! Rail staff are very helpful when you use the crossing.

February 2014. My second stay. A great location, a fantastic, well equipped cottage, an enjoyable week all round.
Stayed here in mid September and had a fantastic time! The cottage was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.. The bedrooms were lovely, really nicely decorated and homely and the heated blankets were definitely a bonus! Amazing views from the cottage, lovelypub nearby (which does gorgeous food) and lots of beautiful places to go walking.. Would recommend to anyone, fantastic.. Thank you
We enjoyed a lovely week at your cottage .The cottage was very well
equipped and homely just one thing I would say is there ought to be a
mat to put in the bath as it's very slippery. The setting was fantastic
the views from the cottage were great, our 3 year old granddaughter had
a great time watching the trains and waving to the drivers every day.
We visited lots of places and the scenery is fantastic .
Views from cottage across the dale and of the settle to carlisle railway are very good.Cottage homely
with comfortable lounge and conservatory.Staff at Kirkby Stephen signal box very helpful when
requesting permission to cross line with car.A holiday cottage for relaxation and time out from the
hurley burley.
Lovely cottage, beautiful location! Plenty to do in the local area also. Would definitely stay again!
We love this house so comfy and homely with cosy conservatory. my family are big train fans and the house is in a superb position for train spotters. Great views of the steam specials from the bridge.Neighbours very helpful with local info. Would thoroughly recommend this property and have already rebooked for next year.
This is our second visit and we all had a fantastic week. Loved the cottage, the views and the location and my 2 year old daughter has loved watching for the trains too! We would love to come back again.
Thoroughly enjoyable on this our return visit. Nicely kept and very comfortable. Helpful owners too.
Thoroughly enjoyable again on this our second visit. A very nicely kept cottage with very helpful owners. Our party included those in their 50s, their 30s and a 2 year old. We all thoroughly enjoyed the location and the accommodation. On cold days, it was a great place to come back to. Very comfortable ineed.
Back again for another great week. I think we were lucky with the weather (we have had nothing but rain at home this summer). Not that it really matters, especially if you like walking, because you have everything you need in the cottage.
All 6 of us had a fantastic stay at the cottage - wonderful location and views with fantastic facilities. We will be back and we will be recommending...
This was our third visit in just over a year. We love it.
The cottage has everything you need and the situation ideal for walking and exploring the Northern Dales.
Hope to be back again.
(The cleanest and best presented cottage we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many over the years)
15th October, 2011 What a wonderful week we had, the cottage was very much more than we expected, warm, cozy and very well equipped, the views stunning and great walks from the doorstep.
We will be back and will be recommending this cottage to friends.
Thank you so much for a lovely warm welcome and a great week.
Darrell, Nina, Phoebe, Andrew and Bailey the dog. We had a wonderful week at Grisedale Cottage. such a gorgeous cottage, very homely and lovely views. Access to all the loveliest areas of the Yorkshire Dales, and it's probably fair to say one week just wasn't enough to fit it all in. Even on the 'rained off' day, we had a lovely day in the Cottage, and saw the steam train in the cottage. Many thanks
Spent a lovely week in Grisedale Crossing Cottage. Excellent accomodation, very cosy, comfortable and furnished with everything you could need. The area is very beautiful and though the cottage is very secluded still you get to talk to a very friendly and helpful neighbour who is a pleasure to spend time with.
Beautiful scenery, the famous 'book town' of Sedbergh nearby, and Lake District within 40 miles (you avoid all the rush and still have a day out in the Lakes). Excellent walks and waterfalls. Be careful as I got eaten alive by midges after spending about 30 miutes outside at dusk. Apparently Avon 'Skin So Soft Dry Oil Spray' helps.
Still I would highly recommend this cottage for the sheer thoughtfulness of the owners and its lovely location. A trainspotter's/ walker's paradise.
Just wanted to say how wonderful your cottage is. We had such a relaxing time and it felt like home. The photographs do NOT do it justice.
Our recent stay was blisssful. The cottage is so lovely - warm and inviting and the views have to be seen to be believed.
A particular highlight for me was having the opportunity to see the steam train fly over the viaduct in full, glorious, whistle tooting glory! It was like a scene from the Railway children and one I will always remember. We were so relaxed by the end of our stay - I just didn't want to go home! I have been urging everyone I know to experience this hidden gem and look forward to going back.
Your cottage is a little oasis. Very cosy (particularly with the Yorkshire weather) and in a very beautiful location. Our party loved the stay and can't wait for the next time.
Went away for 3 days March to explore the dales and chill out and amazing we did that, got great accomadation and god the woodburning stove was great with wonderfull views around the cottage. Defo recommend this cottage and will be coming back many thanks xxxx

We went for a chilling few days...and thats exactly what we got! The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, with lovely decor, beautiful gardens and expansive views of the Dales. We went out on day trips every day and returned to lazy evenings with tasty meals, watching great family films in the comfort of the cosy fire and a lovely bottle of wine. The kids couldn\'t get enough of watching the trains go by, and running in the fields. We can\'t wait to go again. Its a credit to you.
WOW, just look at the view, we had a fantastic ladies weekend, so relaxed away from everyday mundane life. The cottage is so homely and warm, the beds so comfy, you want for nothing - only problem is the hubby and kids want to come next time!!!!
It was wonderful. We had the most relaxed, chilled-out time that I could possibly have hoped for, given such a short time away.

We would really like to return again in the near future
We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at your cottage, and felt compelled to write to let others thinking of visiting your little piece of heaven to go for it!
The cottage itself is finished to a 1st class standard, a real home from home. The surrounding views are magnificent, and had we had bad weather, the cottage is well equipped for keeping kids entertained.
As it was, we had fabulous weather, and the Moorcock Inn just a short walk down the road was a lovely little sun trap with welcoming faces, gorgeous food and real ale that went down very well!
I did wonder whether our 10 and 11 year old would enjoy our visit to the cottage- they found lots to do & didn\'t want to come home! i would highly recommend your cottage - in fact we are already planning our next visit
I\'ve been to this cottage a couple of times and both times had a fab time!! The cottage is lovely and has a real homely feel - its also perfectly placed for long walks and visits to little nearby villages and its set in stunning surroundings. You have everything you could possibly want for a short break or weeks holiday and I feel very priviledged to have spent sometime there.
we stayed at the cottage on 2nd jan 09. just went for two nights, definately wasnt long enough. loved the peace and quiet, the views and the cottage itself was perfect. has everything you need, like home from home. going again this week end. cant wait!! would highly recommend!
A very relaxed week.
Managed a few 1 to 2 hour walks that ended up at the Moorcock, then back home for dinner. Well worth a visit.
well ! what can i say ,the website doesnt do this cottage justice .have just returned from a ladies wkd ,what a beautiful ,idyllic cottage set in the most scenic and awesome surroundings ,. if you enjoy the countryside whether a romantic ,family or friends holiday / break its the business. plenty of lovely walks and great pubs in howes ( 15 mins in the car ) .cottage done up to high standard ,love the real fire ,only one negative once there you wont want to go back the city life .massive thumbs up ,to ann and roger what a great place goin back before xmas ,washin down me leopardskin wellies , already ,jules ..
One of the most relaxing weeks I have ever had. Came home completely chilled.
There are some lovely walks right from the front door.
The Moorcock Inn is only 15 minutes away, accross fields, or even quicker on the road for a pint of real ale and home cooked food.
